THE HISTORY OF SIN

THE HISTORY OF SIN
by M.G. Bueno

Lucifer excommunicated from heaven

Rom 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
Rom 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Rom 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
Rom 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

It’s been said in the pass, that in order for us to prosper in this life, we must need to learn the failures of the pass, that we may not be doomed to repeat those same failures. From the very beginning of God’s creation, before God created the first human beings, before the earth was created there was only one enemy of God, Sin. Sin has conquered, and destroyed and seduced even the very bests of God’s creation, his angels.

According to the Scriptures, the history of Sin began when Sin misled one of God’s most trusted angels Lucifer whose name means Lightbearer.  Lucifer was God’s lightbearer, and later he was called satan, a name which means Adversary, or adversary of God. Sin had seduced the beautiful angel Lucifer to rebel against God. Sin flattered Lucifer of his glory and wisdom and made him to think that he could be like God, not as Jesus is equal with God, and obedient to God, and the same glory and righteousness with God, but Lucifer's intention was to replace and overthrow God. And later, we find how Sin led Lucifer to convince one third of the angels of God to follow him, in rebellion against the Holy and Righteous Dominion of God and declared war against his holy servants. In the book of Isaiah we read about the fall of Lucifer from the kingdom of God. And as a result, Sin has become Lucifer's new found god, ruler and leader.  And hence, he was known as satan, the adversary, or the adversary of his own creator, God.  And satan became the very first servant of Sin.

Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Isa 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Isa 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Isa 14:15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Lucifer who had seen the glorious face of God was ordained by God to be an angel of authority. He had seen the glory of heaven, he had seen the goodness of God, yet sin has crept in undetected to his heart and blinded him that he could not see the danger of going against God. And sin began to sow negative opinions about God in his soul. And as a result Lucifer began to make accusations against God, who is also known as the accuser of the brethren.  It goes to show that you cannot accuse one and not accuse the other.  When you begin to accuse your brother in Christ, you might as well accuse God.  And so satan perhaps made accusations that God was not being fair to him  among all of God's creation.

Yes, God created the beautiful and wise angel Lucifer and contrary to what many believe, God did not create satan. It was Sin that made lucifer into satan. It was because of sin that hell will be satan’s eternal abode. It was Sin itself that paved the way to lucifer’s way to perfect destruction and perdition. But before satan was excommunicated by God, satan had a choice to make, either to choose sin which is, and which was and will always be the destroyer of life, or to choose God, who is and will always be The Giver of Life. Satan was given that freedom and liberty to choose.

Then God made Adam and Eve, and just like the angels of heaven, God created them with liberty and freedom to make a choice to either follow God who is the source of abundant life or follow sin, the source of death and destroyer of souls. One thing that we must always remember about God, God cannot force you to do anything that you don’t choose to do. God, cannot make anyone serve him, God cannot make you love him. You yourself must be convinced to make that choice to love or not love God. To serve or not serve God. To serve God all the way or not serve him at all. You have to make that decision. And you can only have one of the two masters. You cannot have both.

The Bible said that you cannot serve two masters. You either going to serve God or Sin, you either going to be a servant of righteousness or a slave to sin.

Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

From the beginning, the choice has always been either God or Sin. The choice was never God or satan the devil. The devil who is satan, was never part of the choice. Lucifer just like you and I had to make the choice between God or Sin. It is because of sin that crime is growing faster everyday, it is because of sin that men do not tell the truth and it’s because of sin that people live in deceit. It is all because of sin, that people do not acknowledge God. It’s because of Sin that people are self-centered.  Satan is the arch angel of Sin; he is in effect sin’s very first recruit and agent. It was sin who made false promises to satan that he could defeat God and sit on the throne of God, and thought he had to fulfill what his feelings dictates, or his god Sin tells him to do. He thought perhaps God was trying to be a big shot telling his subjects what to do. And so his feelings was hurt and his self, and his ego was brought down and because of this thought pattern Sin ruled over him. And satan had chosen Sin because he felt like Sin is on his side and that God doesn’t care and was unfair to him. Sin is the opponent of God and will always be the number one enemy of God.

And so, when we wake up in the morning, we are left with a choice to make, between two absolutes. We either going to chose God or Sin. We either going to chose Life in God or death in Sin. And one of the very sad thing about satan’s failures, is that he knew who God was, he heard the voice of God. He was their when God called all of his angels to a heavenly council. He had the knowledge of God. Yet he had chosen the Way of Sin, which is the way to death and destruction.

1CO 8:1 "…Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth."

Many people know a lot about the scriptures and about God, who are self-proclaimed theologians. But to God your knowledge doesn’t mean anything. God is not impress of your knowledge about him. God is not impress of your college degrees or how many books you’ve read. What he cares about, is your love for him. And when you love God, the bible said that love will edify you, love will build you up. And your love for God will make you grow in God, and make you want to commit yourself to God, knowing that God loves you, and the bible said that we love him because he first love us and not the other way around. Our love to God is our reaction of his love toward us.

What knowledge cannot do, love can do. Knowledge can puff you up, like a baloon, and make you just as empty as a balloon full of helium, but the love of God will solidify you, and strengthen you in your faith in God thru Jesus Christ.  The Bible said, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Now that’s the amazing love of God, a love that no natural mind could grasp, a love so intense, it’s seems too good to be true yet the love of God is so true. A love that will keep on loving even when we were unlovable and hurtful toward each other. A love that’s always reaching out to us to be reconciled to God thru Jesus Christ.

God has given to us all of his creation to show his love towards us. But not only that, God did more than the extra mile to make sure that man gets the message that He really loves them, He gave his son to die on the cross and to be offered for the sin of the world, for man to be washed clean from sin which is the very cause of death and destruction to the souls of men and women.  That’s why Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice, because Jesus is everything of whatever God has. God could not think of a gift greater than his Son Jesus Christ so that we can be saved.

When we read the history of sin throughout God's word, we see that sin is the choice that many men and women made. It was a fatal attraction which killed those who have chosen to embrace it. Starting from the angel Lucifer, then Adam and Eve. Korah was seduced by it, Balaam was misled by it, Saul, was dethroned by it and many more, both just and the unjust, both godly and ungodly. Why? Because they have chosen Sin to be their king and master. And to many of them it was too late to be restored back to their maker.

And if it’s not too late for you, you still have a chance to make God your choice, to be your master, your teacher, your protector, your advocate and your love. Because he sent for you his Son to shed his blood for you, so that Sin may no longer have control over you. Because there’s power in the blood of Jesus Christ. God is still the the same, God is still the God of love, and he loves you so much, and he has proven it by giving his only begotten Son to die for your sins. And sin is still the same, it still kills. Sin did not change a bit, it still kills even after you have receive Jesus Christ in your life, if you allow it to play with your feelings and your opinions that’s not based upon the word of God.  And Jesus is still the same yesterday, today, and forever. He said, I will be with you always even to the end of the world.

And when Sin begins to flatter you, make promises to you of pleasures that the flesh wants to have, and when in your pity party sin tries to comfort you, that is, comforting you against God, then it's time to learn from the history of sin, how he worked with those he had killed in the pass, and there's no great creation of God that he cannot penetrate with lies, because it happened to one of God's greatest angels.

But thou man or woman of God, be like Moses, who would rather suffer pain with the people of God than to indulge in the pleasures of sin which could only last for a moment.  Be like Paul who said, I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.  Be like Jesus, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The sad thing about sin is it doesn't have any power over any one.  It is man that give sin it's power! yet sin appear to be so powerful, because of the unfathomable damage and destructrion that it caused upon many of God's intelligent creations.  But, sin is nothing but an idol!  It's the Idol of all idols, a false god that was created first by Lucifer, and second, by man,  an attempt to replace the One and Only True God  Who Alone is Worthy of Worship and Praise Forever More.
